Some studies have shown that omega-3 fatty acids decrease the risk of developing allergies and reduce the symptoms, thanks to their anti-inflammatory properties. You can find them in fatty fish like salmon, as well as in stone fruit.


Other studies have shown the positive effects of foods rich in vitamin C, such as apples, oranges, red peppers, strawberries and tomatoes. These foods also contain other nutrients essential to our health, beyond simple allergy relief.


Hot liquids, whether tea or broth, can help reduce mucus and thus alleviate congestion. Besides that, they keep you hydrated. If soup is not your thing, breathing in the steam of a hot shower might help you too.
